When designing jewellery our idea is not simply to make a beautiful object, but also to create a talking point, to provoke curiosity, to begin a conversation. Antonello da Messina was credited with introducing the newly established technique of painting with oils to Italy from the Flemish in the early Renaissance period. When you wear this piece you are also engaging with an important development in the history of art.

This wooden brooch has been made from FSC wood, sustainable wood. Our products are sustainable, the jewellery and their plastic free packaging are completely handmade from FSC-certified wood and paper. Finished with Pin back, silver-plated steel, with locking bar lead and nickel free, the brooch is backed with black felt. Each brooch is individually made and unique and therefore may vary slightly from image shown. Please avoid contact with water.
