Wear a fragment of the Renaissance. This handmade wooden brooch is inspired by The Ideal City of Berlin — one of three extraordinary 15th-century Italian Renaissance perspective panels depicting harmonious, symmetrical cityscapes that embody classical architecture, Greco-Roman geometry, and humanist ideals.
The Berlin panel, the only one of the trio to feature a seascape, is housed at the Bode Museum, part of the Berlin State Museums. Its sister panels can be found at the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche in Urbino and the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.
