These statement earrings are inspired by the work of Toyohara Kunichika (豊原 国周), one of the last great ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock print artists. A student of the leading printmaker Utagawa Kunisada, Kunichika became renowned for his yakusha-e — vivid portraits of kabuki actors and dramatic scenes from popular plays of the time.
Handmade from sustainable wood sourced from FSC-certified suppliers as a raw material — the final product is not FSC-certified — with 925 sterling silver hooks. Dimensions: 2.5cm × 4.3cm. Each pair is entirely handmade, so slight variations make every piece uniquely yours.
Rain and atmospheric humidity do not pose a problem. Avoid wearing the jewellery in the shower, bath, swimming pool, or sea.
The earrings arrive in handmade sustainable packaging made with FSC-certified paper, created exclusively by myself — a ready-to-gift wearable art piece for Japanese art lovers, dark academia enthusiasts, and anyone who carries art history with them.
