Mary Delany Botanical Paper Mosaics Wood Earrings

These asymmetric statement earrings are inspired by the 18th-century botanical paper-mosaics of Mary Delany, the English artist and pioneer of collage art. Each pair is handcrafted in my studio in Granada, Spain, resulting from a meticulous process of examining historic masterpieces, isolating significant details, and reinterpreting them into contemporary wearable art.

This project of Obljewellery stems from a daily engagement with art history and the study of iconic artwork. In contrast to mass production, this practice is grounded in precision, material sensitivity, and narrative, creating conversation pieces that embody memory and museum art history.

Sustainability is integral to the studio's commitment to responsible production and lasting quality. The wood used comes from FSC-certified suppliers as a raw material. Because every piece is made entirely by manual workmanship, no two pairs are exactly identical, offering a non-common alternative to commercial jewelry. Proper care ensures these lightweight sustainable earrings remain durable over time, allowing you to support slow fashion and the preservation of manual craftsmanship.
