Wear a fragment of the Renaissance. This handmade sustainable wood brooch is inspired by The Ideal City of Baltimore — an extraordinary 15th-century Italian Renaissance panel painting attributed to the Florentine school, after a design by Giuliano da Sangallo (ca. 1443–1516), dated ca. 1480–1484.

The panel depicts a harmonious imaginary city square featuring a Roman triumphal arch at its centre, an amphitheatre modelled on the Colosseum, and an octagonal structure evoking the Florence Baptistery — symbols of security, religion, and civic virtue in a well-ordered Renaissance city. Foreground statues represent the cardinal virtues: Justice, Liberality, Moderation, and Fortitude.

The original is housed at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. Its sister panels are at the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche in Urbino and the Bode Museum in Berlin.
