Baron Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856–1931) was a German photographer who spent most of his life in Taormina, Sicily. Inspired by ancient Greek and Roman aesthetics, he created timeless portrait photographs that blended classical beauty with the light and landscape of southern Italy. His work is now part of major museum and private collections worldwide.
