Antonello da Messina Annunciata Mismatched Wood Earrings
Antonello da Messina Annunciata Mismatched Wood Earrings

A pair of mismatched art earrings inspired by the Annunciata by Antonello da Messina — one of the most intimate and powerful portraits of the Italian Renaissance, painted around 1476 and now housed at the Palazzo Abatellis in Palermo. The design captures two of the painting’s most striking elements: the deep cobalt blue of the Madonna’s mantle and the elegant hand raised in the foreground, frozen in a gesture of quiet acceptance. Together they translate a fragment of devotional art into a wearable object for everyday life.
Entirely handmade in our studio in Granada, Spain, from sustainable wood sourced from FSC-certified suppliers. Please note that while the raw material comes from FSC-certified sources, the finished piece is not itself an FSC-certified product. With 925 sterling silver hooks and a weight of just 6 grams, these earrings are exceptionally lightweight — designed to be worn all day without discomfort.
Dimensions: each earring is approximately 3.4 cm x 4 cm. Because every piece is crafted by hand, no two pairs are exactly identical. The mismatched format adds a contemporary, editorial quality to a deeply historical reference — a perfect museum-inspired gift for those drawn to Renaissance art, Sicilian painting, and the history of Italian devotional imagery.
Every order arrives in plastic-free, eco-friendly packaging personally designed in our studio, including a brief history of the artwork.
