These mismatched statement earrings are inspired by Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow (1930) by Piet Mondrian, one of the most iconic works of the Dutch avant-garde and the culmination of Neoplasticism — a movement that sought universal harmony by reducing art to its purest elements: black orthogonal lines and primary colours. The most celebrated version of this series is housed at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag in The Hague, with related versions at MoMA New York and Tate Modern London.
Each earring captures a different detail of Mondrian's geometric grid — red, yellow, and blue planes divided by bold black lines — making every pair a truly asymmetric, one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art. Handcrafted in my studio in Granada, Spain, each earring is individually cut by hand from sustainable wood sourced from FSC-certified suppliers, making every piece subtly unique.
These lightweight sustainable earrings measure 3.5cm x 3.5cm and feature 925 sterling silver hooks. Rain and atmospheric humidity do not present a problem, but avoid showers, baths, swimming pools, and the sea. The earrings arrive enclosed in handmade sustainable packaging made with FSC-certified paper, created exclusively by myself.
