Henri-Edmond Cross The Golden Isles Neo-Impressionist Wood Earrings

These handmade earrings are inspired by Henri-Edmond Cross's 1891 neo-impressionist masterpiece, The Golden Isles (Las Islas de Oro), located in the Musée d'Orsay. The design reflects the painting's innovative divisionist technique, which interprets the sands, sea, and sky of the South of France through rhythmic, mosaic-like brushstrokes. Influenced by Japanese Ukiyo-e prints with a high horizon line, this art history wearable art piece captures the transition toward early twentieth-century fauvism, functioning as an intellectual talking point for museum art collectors and enthusiasts of the dark academia aesthetic.

These Obljewellery earrings measure 4cm x 3.5cm and are very lightweight to wear. The design is attached to 925 sterling silver hooks. Rain and atmospheric humidity do not pose a problem for these materials. However, to maintain their quality, avoid wearing the jewelry in the shower, bath, swimming pool, or sea.

The earrings arrive enclosed in handmade sustainable packaging made with FSC-certified paper, created exclusively by myself. An elegant card is included inside the box, featuring a brief description of the artwork and the artist, making it ready to be given as a gift.
