These lightweight mismatched earrings feature distinct, complementary details from Tahitian Women on the Beach (Femmes de Tahiti), the iconic 1891 post-impressionist oil painting by French artist Paul Gauguin, currently preserved at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Professionally handmade by Obljewellery in my studio in Granada, Spain, each piece measures 3cm x 3.5cm. The design captures Gauguin's famous cloisonnism technique—characterized by bold outlines and flat, vibrant colours inspired by Japanese prints—blending historic art history heritage with contemporary elegance. Designed as an arresting statement jewellery piece, this wearable work of art is crafted to provoke curiosity, making it an uncommon gift for art lovers, museum enthusiasts, and those drawn to the dark academia and artsy aesthetic.
As part of the Obljewellery project, every single piece is the result of manual craftsmanship and a careful study of historic masterpieces, far removed from the ethos of mass production. These lightweight earrings are crafted using sustainable FSC-certified wood and 925 sterling silver hooks, making them comfortable enough for everyday wear yet refined enough for elegant evenings. Because they are entirely handmade, no two pairs are exactly identical, ensuring you receive a truly unique piece of museum art jewellery.
Obljewellery is deeply committed to responsible production and the preservation of the planet. These eco-friendly earrings are durable and designed to last when treated with care. By choosing this sustainable wood jewellery, you actively support conscious commerce and environmental respect. The earrings arrive in a unique, plastic-free envelope designed exclusively by Obljewellery, ready to be presented as a meaningful holiday or special occasion gift.
