These lightweight mismatched earrings feature a radical typographic concept, displaying a different avant-garde masterpiece on each side: the 1923 Dada Matinee poster on one ear, and the iconic Kleine Dada Soiree on the other, both designed by pioneer Theo van Doesburg. Professionally handmade on sustainable wood with 925 sterling silver hooks, this unique statement jewellery transforms early 20th-century anti-art history into a bold, wearable conversation piece.
Created in January 1923 in collaboration with Kurt Schwitters for their legendary Dada tour in the Netherlands, these designs challenge traditional logic through floating, intersecting, and disintegrating text. Measuring approximately 3.5cm x 3.5cm x 3mm, with one half of the pair inspired by the historic print preserved at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, these asymmetrical accessories are the ultimate tribute to Dadaist irony. They serve as the perfect graduation art gift, a thoughtful token for a graphic designer, or an uncommon birthday present for typography lovers, art historians, and those who admire the dark academia or Bauhaus aesthetic.
In my personal studio in Granada, Spain, I handle every step of the creation process, far removed from the ethos of mass production. Because I craft each piece entirely by hand using sustainable FSC-certified wood and a protective clear matt varnish, no two pairs are ever exactly identical. Small variations in the wood grain are an organic feature of my manual workmanship, underscoring the authentic identity and rare, artistic nature of your jewellery.
I am deeply committed to responsible production and the preservation of the planet. By choosing my sustainable wood jewellery, you actively support conscious commerce and environmental respect. To protect the vibrant typographic print and natural texture, it is best to avoid direct contact with water. The earrings arrive enclosed in an elegant design envelope created exclusively by myself, making them a refined gift ready for any special occasion.
